Clogs for Nurses, Dentists and Chefs
If you are on your feet for ten hours a shift, your shoes are equipment, not an accessory. Every clog on this page is handmade in genuine leather with a contoured cork or Comfortflex sole, and every pair ships free anywhere in the world.
Why Clogs for Clinical and Kitchen Work
Clogs became standard in hospitals and professional kitchens for practical reasons rather than fashion ones:
- Slip-on, slip-off. No laces to retie mid-shift, and nothing to trail on a wet floor.
- Closed toe. Protection from dropped instruments, spills and trolley wheels.
- Wipe-clean surface. Our laminated outer leather cleans with a damp cloth, which matters when your day involves fluids.
- Contoured footbed. A moulded sole supports the arch instead of leaving it flat, which is what makes long standing shifts bearable.
We are not making medical claims here. If you have a diagnosed foot condition, talk to a podiatrist about what you need. What we can tell you is how our shoes are built.
Choosing Your Sole
We make three sole types. This is the decision that matters most, so it is worth thirty seconds.
Comfortflex — the flexible one
A lightweight, flexible ergonomic sole. The softest and lightest of the three, and the one most people pick for long shifts on hard hospital flooring. See the Comfortflex range.
Cork Sole — the moulding one
Natural cork moulds gradually to the shape of your foot with wear, so the fit becomes personal over the first few weeks. Firmer underfoot than Comfortflex. See the Cork Sole range.
Air Clogx — the breathable one
A platform sole with an air channel through the midsole for ventilation. The choice for warm environments — kitchens, in particular. See the Air Clogx range.

Sizing
Our clogs run in EU sizes, typically 35 to 44 depending on the model. If you are between sizes or your feet swell across a shift, size up — a clog should have a little room, not grip like a trainer. Our size guide has the full EU to UK conversion, and if you are unsure, email us your usual size and we will tell you what we would send.
If you are in London you are welcome to try a pair on in person at our Greenwich Market shop. Details and opening hours.
Common Questions
Are these suitable for NHS work?
Most NHS trusts require closed-toe, non-slip, easily cleaned footwear, and many specify a plain colour. Our white and black models meet the usual requirements, but uniform policy varies by trust and department — check yours before ordering.
How do I clean them?
Wipe the laminated outer leather with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash, do not soak, and let them dry away from direct heat. The inner leather is untreated and breathable, so it should not be saturated.
How long do they take to break in?
Comfortflex and Air Clogx soles are comfortable immediately. Cork takes roughly one to two weeks of regular wear to mould to your foot, and feels firm until it does. That is the trade-off for a footbed that ends up shaped to you.
Are they slip resistant?
The soles are treaded and designed for indoor hard flooring. They are not certified safety footwear — if your role requires certified slip-resistant or toe-protected shoes to a specific standard, you need shoes that carry that certification.
What if they do not fit?
You have 30 days to return them for a full refund or exchange. Contact us first at delivery@uksystem.co.uk so we can send you return instructions. Full terms are in our return policy.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes, and shipping is free everywhere with no minimum order. UK delivery is typically 2 to 3 business days after dispatch; EU and North America 5 to 10; other destinations 10 to 20. We dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. See our shipping policy.
